Mayor’s Office is reorganized.

Through a change in the city charter, the mayor is now elected by a plurality (simple majority), and given qualified veto powers over the Board of Aldermen, but excluded from its deliberations. The size of the Board of Alderman is increased, the Boston Common Council retained, and the School Committee reorganized.
